The Jaejoo Boys are a folk duo who debuted in 2003 and was nominated for Best New Artist at the 1st Korea Music Awards.  Jaejoo in Korean means"talent".  The band didn't garner much support in those early days, however, when Park Kyung-hwan, one half of the group, won third place at the Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition in 2002, the local pop music scene started to pay attention.

The duo met Kim Min-kyu of Deli Spice, who had established the music label “Moon Rise.” They then moved from Jeju to Seoul and worked on their music. The male duo frequently performed at clubs near Hongik University. At the end of 2003, they were nominated for the new artists’ prize at the 1st Korea Music Awards.
